Tony Khan isnt rushing to slap the AEW name on Ring of Honorbut the idea is still very much alive.

Nearly a year after teasing that ROH could benefit from being rebranded as AEW: Ring of Honor, Khan gave an update on the situation and explained why, for now, hes keeping things separate.

During an interview with WFAA, Khan was asked directly about his comments from 2024 regarding the potential name change. He made it clear that while the concept makes sense, its not as simple as just flipping the switch.

Khan pointed to AEWs massive media rights deals and the ripple effect theyve had across the wrestling landscape. According to him, any change involving Ring of Honor has to make sense for both companiesnot just from a branding standpoint, but financially too.

For now, Khan seems content with how Ring of Honor is positioned, especially with champions like Athena and Bandido holding it down.

Bottom line Tony Khan isnt ready to rush into turning Ring of Honor into an AEW-branded product, but hes clearly keeping that card in his back pocket. With the money AEWs pulling in and ROH quietly rebuilding, its only a matter of time before Khan decides whether to merge the brands or keep them in their own lanes. Either way, fans better keep watching because when Khan finally makes that move, you wont miss it.
