Keith Lees absence from AEW has left fans wondering whats really going onand now, The Limitless One is finally addressing the situation.
After months of radio silence, Lee took to Twitter/X to give an update on his status, making it clear his comeback isnt in his hands.
Lee was pulled from the Worlds End pay-per-view back in 2023 after battling an injury that he later revealed had been lingering since 2022. Since then, he hasnt stepped foot in an AEW ring, sparking plenty of speculation about his future. When a fan reached out to wish him well, Lee responded with a blunt but calm message.
Lee followed up with another reply to a supporter who suggested launching a fan campaign to push for his return.
The message suggests that while Lee may feel ready, his medical clearanceor a decision from AEW managementis whats holding up his return. Back in early 2024, Sean Ross Sapp confirmed that Lee was still under contract with AEW but had not been medically cleared to compete.
Lees last match was on AEW Collision: Holiday Bash in December 2023, where he defeated Brian Cage. Outside of a brief backstage appearance at a Texas AEW taping earlier this year, hes been completely off TV.
For now, its clear Lee is content to wait things out, leaving the decision in AEWs hands.
