It looks like WWE could be coming after some of Mexicos hottest wrestling talentand Dave Meltzer isnt surprised one bit.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer discussed the major reactions stars like Mystico, Mascara Dorada, and Bandido received during CMLLs sold-out Arena Mexico shows. With that kind of momentum, it might only be a matter of time before WWE picks up the phone.
Its not exactly a new move for WWE. Anytime a promotion outside the company starts building real momentum, the big offers start flying. Meltzer explained that the AEW and CMLL working relationship, along with the Mexican stars getting over on a global stage, is exactly the kind of scenario WWE loves to pounce on.
While CMLL remains one of the most respected and historic promotions in the world, Meltzer made it clear they simply cant compete with the financial muscle WWE brings to the table.
CMLL has been around for over 90 years, but history shows that no amount of tradition can stop WWE from making aggressive offers when they see talent with international appeal.
What do you think? Will WWEs money lure away CMLLs top stars, or can they hold their ground? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
