Jimmy Jacobs parted ways with AEW back in October 2024 and since then, hes been busy on the indies. However, fans have been wondering if he will ever return to AEW and he has now addressed the same.
While speaking on Cafe de Renee, Jimmy Jacobs was asked about a possible return to AEW. He said that when hes ready to get back into things, he hopes the right opportunity comes along. But if it doesnt, hes at peace with that as well. There was a time he believed wrestling would be a lifelong commitment, but now hes comfortable stepping away if thats what life calls for.
Jacobs made it clear that it has to be the right fit. Hes no longer willing to give his entire life to wrestling. Being on call around the clock and constantly traveling just isnt something he can do anymore. At one point, he thought he had the energy for it, but working in AEW showed him that he no longer does.
Looking back at his time in AEW, Jacobs doesnt feel like he lived up to his full potential. He doesnt believe he contributed in the way he wanted to. Some people assumed he had more creative influence than he actually did, and he wishes that had been true.
Jacobs said he would have liked to be more involved creatively, but that just didnt happen. It made him question whether he still had what it takes. He admits he didnt give Tony Khan everything he could have.
Moving forward, Jacob knows that whatever role he takes on, he needs to be able to fully commit. And in order to do that, he has to make sure hes taking care of his own well-being first.
The former Ring of Honor creative mindoriginally joined AEW in June 2023as a key writer but his run clearly didnt last that long. Regardless, well have to see if Jacobs returns to AEW one day, as theres no guarantee about that right now.
