The June 20 episode of WWE SmackDown saw John Cena cutting his own pipebomb promo, where he name-dropped former WWE talent and that included Matt Cardona. Unsurprisingly, Cardona has now reacted to Cena name-dropping him after the show.
The Indy God took to his Twitter and directly responded to John Cena name-dropping him as he kept it short and sweet, saying, Hey @johncena. He also followed it up with an Instagram post, where he uploaded a photo of John Cena wearing Zack Ryder sunglasses and a headband.
During SmackDown this week, John Cena put CM Punk through a table and cut his own pipebomb promo to mock Punk. During the promo, Cena directly named Claudio Castagnoli, Nic Nemeth and Matt Cardona while waving at the camera and this got a big reaction from fans.
For a very long time now Matt Cardona has made it clear he really wants to go back to WWE and was surprised the company didnt even call him to offer a contract yet. Considering the history he has with Cena, Cardona really wants to have one last match with John Cena.
We will have to wait and see whether John Cena name-dropping Matt Cardona will ultimately lead to a program between the two, as fans would definitely love to see that happen.
