The June 20 episode of WWE SmackDown was a big show. They rolled into the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Alexa Bliss took on Asuka in a semifinals match this week on SmackDown. The winner would go on to compete at WWE Night of Champions.

This match was the first of the night on SmackDown. Fans werent ready for Asuka, but Alexa Bliss certainly appeared to be. When push came to shove, these two former tag team partners knew each other well.

This match stretched through a commercial break as the two went back and forth. Eventually, Asuka gained the upperhand as Alexa Bliss sold the assault. This was quite a strong return for the Empress of Tomorrow, who had been out of action for 13 months prior to this week.

At one point, Alexa Bliss almost hit a Sister Abigail, but Asuka reversed it into a roll up pin for a two count. Then Bliss moved out of the way of a dropkick, and Bliss nailed a DDT for another near fall.

Alexa Bliss thought about hitting a Twisted Bliss, but she got down. Then Asuka played opossum and nailed an arm lock on Bliss, one that stretched her to her limit. However, Bliss got out of it.

Asuka got her knees up as Bliss nailed a Twisted Bliss. Then Asuka hit her finisher to secure the win. Now, Asuka will be in the finals in the Queen of the Ring tournament.

We will keep a close eye on WWEs events on the horizon. Night of Champions is set to be a big show on June 28, 2025, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
