Mariah May made her way to WWE earlier this month after she parted ways with AEW. She ended her time in AEW with a solid program with Toni Storm and now it appears Mays WWE move changed plans for All In: Texas.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, people close to Mercedes Mon said she was open to losing to Athena in order to build up a rematch at AEW All In in: Texas.
However, once AEW decided to go with a match between Toni Storm and Mon instead, it didnt make sense for Mon to lose that match and also not win the Owen Hart Tournament. Originally, the plan months ago also included Mariah May being part of All In, but that changed when she chose not to sign a new contract with WWE.
The CEO of AEW will be challenging Toni Storm for the AEW Womens Championship at All In: Texas and its obviously one of the most highly anticipated matches on the card. Even then, some fans still feel Mariah May facing Toni Storm at All In: Texas wouldve been a great match as well. Regardless, whats done is done and fans are just now focused on Toni Storm facing Mercedes Mon at All In: Texas.
