Warner Bros. Discovery is officially planning to split into two separate companiesby mid-2026 and since then, fans have been wondering how this would affect AEW in the long run. While speculation continues, Tony Khan has now addressed the split and AEWs future.
While speaking withYahoo Finance, Tony Khan talked about the upcoming changes at Warner Bros. Discovery. Tony Khan said he has strong relationships with the top people at Warner Bros. Discovery on both sides of the new split.
Khan mentioned that CEO David Zaslav, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels, who will lead the Global Networks division, and Bruce Campbell all helped make AEWs deal happen and have been great partners.
Khan also said 2025 is a big year for AEW, and hes excited about the future. He pointed out that AEW is an important part of TBS and TNT, which are key TV networks, and is also growing fast on the streaming side.
AEW will stay on TBS and TNT for now and their current deal lasts until 2027, with a chance to extend it to 2028. Tony Khan is clearly confident about AEWs future so well have to see whether the company will remain unaffected once the split happens next year.
