AEW reached a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to make their shows available on more platforms. Thats why Dynamite airs on both TBS and the Max streaming app, and Collision is shown on TNT and Max at the same time. Its been several months since this simulcasting began, and Tony Khan has now claimed that AEWs cable audience has actually grown.
While speaking to Yahoo Finance, Tony Khan said that 2025 is the first year AEW is being shown at the same time on both cable TV and streaming. Khan says now fans can watch AEW every Wednesday night on TBS and Max, and every Saturday night on TNT and Max. He said the company is growing fast, and AEW is now shown in over 150 countries, with millions of people watching every week.
Tony Khan believes that 2025 is one of the best years AEW has ever had. He confirmed that the business is doing really well and making money. He claims that the new simulcast brought in more viewers on Max, but it also helped increase cable TV viewership, which many people didnt expect.
Khan explained that some thought people would stop watching on cable and only stream the show, but AEWs cable audience actually went up. He says they have a strong fanbase on Max every week as well.
Over time, AEW has kept and grown a loyal audience on both cable and streaming. He ended by saying what AEW always believes, that its the place where the best wrestle and he truly believes thats still true.
AEWs decision to air its shows on both TBS/TNT and the Max streaming app seems like a smart strategy, as it reaches both streaming users and traditional TV audiences. However, its not really known how fans truly feel about Tony Khans claim, especially since AEWs overall viewership has been slowly dropping each year
