Speaking to Busted Open Radio on June 16, 2025, the former Intercontinental Champion explained that while he accepted the end of his run, he hoped for a better sendoffespecially for fellow Judgment Day member R-Truth, who had just returned to TV when Carlito was being phased out. Carlito saw value in protecting the integrity of the stories they were telling.
Carlito said he didnt expect to be a top guy, but he did expect basic respect. Instead, his final WWE chapter ended without warning, and the Judgment Day arc he contributed to just vanished overnight. As someone who had pride in being a reliable supporting character, the lack of narrative payoff felt like a disservice to everyone involvedincluding the audience.
