Ever since WWE acquiredMexican lucha libre promotion AAA, many fans instantly speculated whether there was a possibility of Alberto Del Rio returning to WWE. As it turns out, there actually isnt any chance at all right now.
According to a report from Cory Hays of BodySlam.net, WWE has no plans to bring back Alberto Del Rio. Sources close to the company confirmed that there have been no discussions or internal conversations about a potential return.
It was added that this stance is consistent across all departments within WWE. Del Rio has not been contacted, nor is he being considered for any future creative or talent-related plans. At this time, WWEs position is described as final, with no indication that it will change moving forward.
This comes after Dave Meltzer previously reported that people who are friendly with Alberto Del Rio stated that his relationship with WWE is fine, andhes expected to return to WWE eventually, but just notyet.
However, its more evident WWE doesnt actually want to have anything to do with Del Rio since they actually intentionally hid the Mexican Superstar during the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event. Therefore, its clear fans shouldnt really expect to see Del Rio back in WWE anytime soon, if ever again.
Do you think WWE is right to keep Alberto Del Rio out of the picture, or do you believe he deserves one more run? Sound off in the comments.
