The Undertaker made sure to be a part of the Hall of Fame ceremony this year since his wife Michelle McCool was inducted at the event. However, it appears the Deadman was dealing with health issues before the show as its now been revealed he underwent heart surgery after WrestleMania 41.
While speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, Michelle McCool revealed that in the five weeks before the Hall of Fame and WrestleMania, she couldnt focus on anything except her husband, The Undertaker. It was a really hard time for her. People kept asking how the Hall of Fame was, and while she did enjoy being on stage, something much more serious was happening behind the scenes.
Michelle explained that The Undertaker had serious heart problems during that time. When people congratulated her and asked how she was, she was almost crying, not because of nerves or the speech, but because she had been so scared for her husband.
They found out about his heart issue by chance, and it was very scary. The morning after they got home from WrestleMania 41, they were already at the hospital at 6 AM for a small heart surgery.
The Undertaker confirmed that it was his heart and admitted that he wasnt even supposed to travel to Vegas at that point, as he said, It was my heart yeah. So, yeah, there was this little kind of side situation going on. I wasnt even supposed to go to Vegas.
Michelle McCool said the Deadman wasnt supposed to go anywhere. He had asked her not to tell anyone, but she felt that wasnt fair to her. Just two weeks before WrestleMania, they had spent four nights in the hospital. She couldnt think about anything else during that time since her only concern was his health.
McCool made countless phone calls, stayed up during long nights in the hospital, and worked hard to find the best cardiologist possible and said it paid off. By the grace of God, Undertaker was okay, but even the doctor told them that things could have gone very badly if they hadnt caught it when they did.
The Deadman confirmed he is feeling much better now, joking that he is as strong as a bull now, saying, Now Im strong like bull. Regardless, fans are just happy to know that The Undertaker is perfectly healthy and his heart issues are dealt with and thats all that matters in the end.
