Caitlin Clark is set to make her return to the Indiana Fever lineup Saturday against the New York Liberty, the team announced Friday.
Clark has missed the past five games since suffering a quad strain May 24 against the Liberty. She had returned to practice this week as part of a ramp-up for her return from her first missed games in her collegiate or professional career.
Indiana also is likely to have Sophie Cunningham available for Saturday's game. Cunningham has been limited to four games this season due to an ankle injury that she aggravated at the end of May.
Fever coach Stephanie White told reporters Friday that she expected both Clark and Cunningham to play barring any setbacks.
Their returns will come against a Liberty team that is trying to become the fourth team in WNBA history to open a season with at least 10 straight wins. The 2016 Minnesota Lynx hold the league record by starting 13-0.
The Fever (4-5) have gone 2-3 with Clark out of the lineup. Indiana absorbed its most lopsided loss of the season when it shot a season-worst 36.2% in a 77-58 loss at Atlanta on Tuesday.
