The June 10 episode ofWWE NXT featured Mariah May being introduced to the NXT universe as Blake Monroe in a very artistic video, which was reminiscent of golden age Hollywood movies. Interestingly enough, it appears the vignette actually drew inspiration from Sabrina Carpenter.
The memorable vignette that aired during NXT this week showed the former Mariah May in a bathtub, holding a newspaper featuring herself, her being draped in a towel and revealing a black corset and finally, an animated version of herself.
As it turns out, each of these sequences drew heavy inspiration from the musical sensation Sabrina Carpenter. The vintage look for the vignette was inspired by Carpenters live performances onstage, where she came out wearing a bathrobe. In one of her music videos, Carpenter can be seen reading a newspaper with the headline Sabrina Loves to be on Top.
Blake Monroe is all about the glitz and glamor and fans feel there is no better source of inspiration than Sabrina Carpenter right now. Its to be noted that the name Blake Monroe has a very personal meaning behind it as well.
Regardless, Blake Monroe is here to entertain fans on NXT television every week and shes set to sign a contract on next weeks show. Therefore, well have to see whether Monroe will truly shine as a star in NXT, since shes already on the right path.
