Corey Graves just got his spark backand it all happened at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide.
Graves was behind the mic for the historic crossover event on June 7, joining Lucha Libre icon and former WCW U.S. Champion Konnan on commentary. The two called the action for a show that mixed styles, cultures, and energy in a way WWE hadnt done beforeand for Graves, it hit deeper than fans might realize.
Corey Graves took to X to open up about where his head had been before this opportunity, revealing that hed been in a rough spot emotionally. Sometimes, you run low on passion. But then, something like this weekend happens, Graves wrote.
He made sure to thank the AAA promotion directly, writing: Gracias por permitirme entrar en tu mundo, @luchalibreaaa. I only wanted to do your culture & business proud.
Graves also gave major props to his broadcast partner: Thank you to @Konnan5150 for dropping the important knowledge and being a genuinely first class human being. He loves this more than any of us will ever understand.
But it was his final message that hit hardest, showing just how much the event helped shift his mindset: Thanks to you guys, for reminding me that a rough patch isnt the end of the road.
For someone whos been a consistent voice on WWE programming, this was a rare glimpse into whats going on behind the scenesand just how much a meaningful gig like Worlds Collide can mean, even to a veteran like Graves.
Was this Graves best night on commentary yet? Or should WWE give him even more freedom like this going forward? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
