The idea of Shane McMahon launching a new wrestling company with his father, Vince McMahon, has taken on a life of its own in recent monthsbut Shane is setting the record straight.
While speaking with TMZ Sports, Shane was asked directly about the rumor and gave a clear answer: its not happening.
The TMZ interviewer asked if he and Vince were planning to start their own promotion amid speculation that theyve both been quietly exploring options outside WWE. Shane initially played into the unpredictability of the business before firmly denying it.
The comment was Shanes most direct denial yet after months of swirling reports that Vince McMahonousted from power in WWE following legal issues and the TKO mergermight be plotting a comeback via a brand-new wrestling venture. Jonathan Coachman even claimed Vince wanted to buy back WWE, while Conrad Thompson added fuel by saying McMahon had been reaching out to old executives about a new project.
Shanes been a hot topic in his own right. Back in 2022, he was quietly removed from WWE by his own father after clashing with producers over the Royal Rumble match he helped book. Despite the backstage heat, Vince Russo came to his defense and suggested Shane has the means to launch his own company.
For now, Shane McMahon is shutting the door on those wrestling promotion rumorsbut in pro wrestling, doors rarely stay shut for long. Between his history, resources, and unfinished business in the industry, its hard to believe Shanes story is over. Whether he returns to WWE, takes another meeting with AEW, or steps into something brand new, you can bet the next chapter will be worth watching.
