R-Truths WWE departure isnt as straightforward as it first seemed. While fans continue rallying behind the veteran performer, new reports suggest theres more going on behind the scenesespecially when it comes to why hes no longer with the company.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE made the call to part ways with R-Truth because of his contract being too expensive for how he was being used.

That lines up with WWEs broader cost-cutting trend. But it directly contradicts an earlier report from former WWE broadcaster Jonathan Coachman. On The Coach & Bro Show, Coachman said someone close to the situation told him WWE did offer Truth a new dealbut with a major pay cut.

If thats accurate, then Truth wasnt releasedhe walked away on principle. Teddy Long weighed in on Road Trip After Hours, revealing that Truth is taking it all in stride.

Mac Davis, Longs co-host, believes this might be Truths opportunity to truly reinvent himself.

Despite the split, Truth isnt out of options. Meltzer also noted that TNA Wrestling is already looking to sign him.

As for AEW, it depends on whether Tony Khan sees room for a comedic veteran.

Whatever the real story is, one things clearR-Truth left behind a massive fanbase and years of loyalty. Whether he got cut or chose to leave, hes not done entertaining.

Do you think R-Truth made the right move by turning down WWEs offer? Or was WWE right to move on? Drop your take in the comments below.
