While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Elayna Black revealed the origins of her wrestling name. She revealed that she trained for a year and a half before her first match, and it took her a long time to build the confidence to compete. Her trainer Bryce had a spooky-themed group with two other trainees, and he invited her to join them for her first match. In that match, she turned heel.
Black and another wrestler named Juan started as babyfaces but ended up facing her trainer and his trainee. During the match, she turned against Juan and joined her trainers spooky group. This was how the character of Elayna Black was created.
Elayna explained that she was a big fan of The Vampire Diaries when she wanted to become a wrestler, and the name Elayna comes from the main character of that show. The last name Black was inspired by her admiration for Seth Rollins, whose indie wrestling name was Tyler Black, so she borrowed that for herself.
Elayna Blacks wrestling character is more than just a name since it comes from her early experiences, inspirations, and special moments in her wrestling career. Now that shes no longer with WWE, Black will keep showing the world what she can do. Therefore, fans cant wait to see how 2025 turns out for her.
