WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has always been seen as a good soldier for the company, but some felt that was to his detriment. In fact, Henry has now revealed he took a huge pay cut despite being promised there would be ways to make back the money.
While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry was asked if WWE ever came at him with a lower offer to keep his job. He said he had gone through that experience, explaining that he was still working a full schedule when WWE asked him to take a significant pay cut, nearly 40 to 50 percent.
The company told him they would give him other opportunities outside of wrestling to earn that money back and work his way into a better deal. However, he never recovered the lost income. Despite the cut, he chose to stay with WWE because he didnt want to go anywhere else.
The Worlds Strongest Man also shared that during the height of the Monday Night Wars, WCW offered him a large amount of money to jump ship, but he turned it down, saying, Man, I got offered a hell of a lot of money to go to WCW back in the day when the war was going on, and I said no.
Right now, the WWE Hall of Famer is under a WWE Legends Deal and remains a part of the company in that sense. Its clear Henry has always been loyal to WWE but fans really do feel he cost himself because of his loyalty but ultimately, he did what he thought was the right move.
