Ric Flair is catching serious heatand this time, its not just for what he posted, but for what he tried to walk back.
After deleting two of his most controversial tweetsone targeting Jim Ross and another involving a parody consent form called The WOOOOO CompromiseFlair left one post standing. In that tweet, he claimed the entire situation was misunderstood and that he was just having fun.
If You Cant Take A Joke From A 76 Year Old Man, Then You Are Living Life Too Seriously. It Was All Harmless, Lighthearted Fun! Just Trying To Make People Laugh & Smile! Flair wrote.
But fans werent buying itand they let him know in the replies. One user clapped back immediately, pointing out that nothing about the post read like humor: that didnt read like a joke at all lmfao
Another referenced Flairs son-in-law and podcast partner, urging him to step in: Conrad, come get your mans bro
Several fans questioned why Flair brought the public into what he later tried to frame as an inside joke: Why are you including the public in your supposed joke with a supposed friend?
One user called for accountability, reminding Flair that being The Man means more than just living off a legacy: You didnt make that clear Ric. Again being The Man also includes being a BETTER man and taking the high ground if something doesnt look or feel right.
Another went deeper, tying Flairs current antics to his past allegations and public persona: But it wasnt funny. You are a father, a grandfather and husband. This is not the 1970s, or 1980s, times are different. Enjoy life, enjoy being celebrated for the achievements in the entertainment sport you played, and be irreverent. Make money with your Wooo drinks and marketing products. Dont post consent garbage when you allegedly didnt care for consent on the airplane and other alleged issues.
Then came the backlash regarding the implication that Flair was joking about cancerreferencing Jim Ross ongoing health battle:
Joking about cancer isnt funny. Didnt think youd need to be told this but here we are.
Some things arent jokes dude.
Respectfully, cancer isnt a laughing matter at any age. The only one seeking attention here is you.
You do not make people laugh and smile by joking about cancer. You are, once again, a disgusting human being
You were trying to make people laugh and smile bytalking shit about a cancer patient? Ok lol.
One user even took a shot at Flairs own past behavior, referencing his meltdown on Kill Tony:
Didnt u get drunk and storm off Kill Tony bc u couldnt take a joke tho? Fckin pssy
And another skipped subtlety altogether: Youre an ASSHOLE Ric. Plain and simple. Great wrestler, human scum.
Flair has yet to respond to the latest barrage of comments, but with two deleted tweets and the internet on fire, his attempt to deflect criticism only seems to have poured gasoline on it.
Is Ric Flairs legacy being tarnished by his refusal to evolve, or is this just another case of internet outrage gone too far? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
