The June 2, 2025 episode of WWE RAW was already filled with emotion and chaos, but it was what happened after the show went off the air that really got people talking. CM Punk took a moment to speak directly to the live crowd in Tulsaand his comments may have been a pointed joke, or something more.
During the main event triple threat qualifying match for Money in the Bank, the crowd erupted into loud We Want Truth chants. It was the second time that night fans hijacked a match to show support for R-Truth following his release from WWE. The chants came despite a fast-paced clash between CM Punk, AJ Styles, and El Grande Americano.
After the cameras stopped rolling, CM Punk grabbed a mic and addressed the chants head-on. How dare you sing someones name when theyre not here?
Some fans laughed, suggesting Punk may have been playfully mocking how his name was chanted for nearly a decade after he walked out on WWE. But the timingright after a night filled with crowd protests over R-Truths releaseleft plenty of room for interpretation.
Earlier in the night, similar chants derailed the opening Womens Money in the Bank Qualifying Match between Liv Morgan, Stephanie Vaquer, and Ivy Nile. Fans at the BOK Center werent just upsetthey were loud about it, turning what shouldve been spotlight moments for rising talent into public outcry against TKOs roster decisions.
Online, the backlash has only grown. WWEs social media posts hyping up a packed week of events were quickly swarmed with furious comments. One user summed up the sentiment by posting: FCK U. BRING BACK R TRUTH and CARLITO. Another added: Yea not watching any of these shows till @RonKillings is back in WWE.
As the We Want Truth chants carried into the shows biggest match, it became clear WWE is facing a fan revolt unlike anything theyve seen since the days CM Punk himself walked out in 2014. And now, ironically, Punk may be the one trying to steer the ship while fans chant for someone else.
