WWE and the Big 12 Conference are taking their partnership to new heights, bringing Friday Night SmackDown to several Big 12 markets the night before major NCAA football games.
According to Chris Vannini, WWEs expanded partnership will include a series of SmackDown events scheduled in Big 12 cities, coinciding with college football action.
One of the first stops will be in Ireland, where WWE SmackDown will take place on August 22, 2025, just before the Week 0 college football game between K-State and Iowa State on August 23. WWE will also hold a show in Orlando on September 25, ahead of the highly-anticipated UCF vs. UNC matchup.
This expansion comes after WWEs successful collaboration with the Big 12 in 2023, which saw the company present the Most Outstanding Player award at the Big 12 Conference Championship with a custom championship belt.
With WWE continuing to partner with major sports leagues, this move raises the question: Will we see WWE SmackDown become a regular fixture in college football markets? Do you think this partnership will help boost WWEs visibility in new markets? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
