Sol Ruca is on a roll in NXT.
WWEs NXT brand held the Battleground premium live event at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The card included a match for the NXT Womens North American Championship.
Sol Ruca defended her title at the event. She won the championship at Stand & Deliver in a ladder match that also featured Kelani Jordan and Zaria.
Kelani Jordan eventually earned a shot at the title, the first-ever Womens North American Champion was hoping to finally reclaim the championship. Naturally, Sol Ruca wasnt going to let this happen without a fight, but Zarias presence was still always interesting.
This match kicked off the Battleground premium live event. The two spent some time feeling each other out, but then Sol Ruca took control of the contest.
Kelani Jordan eventually gained an advantage and she took Sol Ruca to the apron, where the two battled for position. Then Ruca tossed Kelani in, but she landed on her feet, only to kick Ruca in the head and send her to the flood. Kelani landed a dive on the champion after that.
Sol Ruca countered a Poisonrana off the top rope, and then she nailed a spear for a very close near fall. Then Kelani hit a Spanish Fly for a two count. Zaria remained on the outside, cheering Sol Ruca on, but Jordan just continued her attack.
Zaria was ejected from ringside after she got involved, and the match carried on. Then Ruca got a clearing on top, and she hit her finisher from the top for the win.
The NXT Womens North American Title picture is full of talented females. Only time will tell what is in the plans for that championship, but Shawn Michaels and crew certainly have a lot in the works.
