Jim Ross is officially checked in and ready for the fight of his life. The WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW commentator confirmed on the morning of May 27 that he has arrived at the hospital to undergo surgery for colon cancer.
In a defiant update shared on social media, Ross made it clear hes bringing the same no-nonsense attitude to his health battle that he brought to the broadcast booth.
Earlier this month, Ross revealed he was dealing with colon cancer and preparing for surgery, though he admitted the stress of the situation had caused him to block out some of the details. Speaking on Grilling JR, he opened up about how surreal the process has been.
Ross also confirmed the surgery involves a cutting-edge laser technique, performed with the help of computer-guided precision. He said the recovery time should be short and he fully expects to be back behind the mic for AEW All In: Texas on July 12 at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Jim Ross remains a legendary voice in pro wrestling and a symbol of resilience for fans around the world. With surgery now underway, all eyes are on Good Ol JR as he fights to get back where he belongsringside with a mic in hand.
