Zelina Vega walked into WWE Saturday Nights Main Event with the WWE Womens United States Championshipand she left with it still in her hands after a blood-soaked war with Chelsea Green.
The May 24 showdown at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida was physical from the start, with both women laying into each other as the crowd roared for Vega. But things took a serious turn late in the match when Chelsea Green was busted open. Her nose was visibly bleeding as she continued to fight, refusing to slow down despite the injury.
The crowd rallied behind Vega as the match spilled through a commercial break. After a hard-fought battle, the end came when the champ climbed up top with Green and hit a devastating Code Red from the top rope for the pinfall victory.
After the match, medics rushed in to check on Chelsea, whose nose appeared badly damaged with blood streaked across her face. She looked like she was in real pain, one fan in attendance told Ringside News. Green was helped to the back while Vega celebrated with her title.
Chelsea Green has been gunning for revenge ever since losing the title to Vega, teaming up with The Secret Hervice in hopes of reclaiming her spot. But now, it looks like she may need some time to heal before taking another shot.
