AEW has a lot of things going on, and some roster members are out of action. Jamie Hayter went through a long injury hiatus, and things were quite serious for a bit.
During the May 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jamie Hayter and Mercedes Mone had a heated back-and-forth promo battle in the form of an in-ring interview with Renee Paquette. Hayter revealed that she almost retired from pro wrestling during her injury, and there was a bit of truth to that.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that there was concern Jamie Hayter might not be able to return to wrestling due to her injury. Some readers apparently questioned whether this was part of a storyline, but there was real uncertainty about her status.
Jamie Hayter is set to take on Mercedes Mone in the finals of the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The winner of that match will go on to All In, where they will battle for the AEW Womens Title.
We will have to see what happens at Double or Nothing, but Jamie Hayter has certainly been through a lot to get to that point. Win or lose, Hayter has a lot to be proud about.
