Dominik Mysterio Reveals Story of How He Won Over His Wife Marie Juliette

While appearing on Whats Your Story? With Steph McMahon, the former tag champ opened up about his real-life relationship, sharing personal stories about how they met, how shes supported his wrestling journey, and how much she continues to keep him grounded.

So we were both 14, and I dont wanna say itI wanna say I dont think, I know she did not like me, Dominik said, smiling. I think shes very like to herself, and she doesnt like cocky guys, so I forced myself into the Spanish class knowing damn well she was in there and she wouldnt talk to me otherwise.

It didnt stop there. Spanish is actually my first language, so when the teacher asked who could count to 10, I counted to 50so yeah, she thought I was a cocky guy right off the bat.

But Mysterio was determined. I ended up getting her number from a friend of hersso she had no ideaand then we slowly started talking. I asked her to be my girlfriend, and she said no. I asked her again, and again, and the third time, still no. But the fourth time was the charm. We were still 14 when she finally said yes. I was just persistent. I knew what I wanted.

Now, over a decade later, Marie has stood by his side through every twist of his wrestling careerfrom training in Calgary with Lance Storm, to relocating for WWE developmental, to dealing with national TV angles involving kisses and chaos.

Shes been super supportive the whole time, Dominik said. Ive been fortunate enough to train in different placesI lived in Calgary and trained with Lance Storm, then moved to Tampa to train with Jay Lethal, then back home. Even when I signed with WWE and was in Orlando for a year and a half, she supported everything.

Even when he second-guessed himself, she didnt let him quit. There were times I didnt want to go. Id say, I can train here. And shed go, No, its not the same. If your dad thinks thats the right place, thats where you go. She pushed me when I needed it most.

When Stephanie asked how that support translates today, Dominik didnt hesitate: Yeah, shes been my rock this whole time, for sure. Without her, Id be lost.

And as for their wedding? Even when we got married, I did absolutely nothing for the wedding. She just told me what day to be there and what time to show upand thats exactly what I did.

I think my parents love her because she keeps me in check. She balances me out for sure, he added. Shes the best. Yeah. Shout out, Marie.

Dominik might be feuding with the WWE Universe on camera, but behind the scenes, hes deeply loyal to the one person whos been there from the very beginning.
