Darby Allin has officially reached the summit of Mount Everest, achieving a lifelong goal that has kept him away from AEW for weeks.
The update was posted on May 18, confirming that Allin made it to the top of the worlds highest peak alongside a team of experienced climbers.
Top of the World! 8:50am local time Summit! Good weather was in our favor, but many teams took advantage of the short window as well, which slowed our progress more than expected, the blog post read.
Allins team included Ang Dorjee Sherpa, Pasang Bhote, Tashi Thundu Sherpa, and Pemba Sherpa all seasoned climbers who have summited Everest multiple times. Now that Allin has reached the top, hes expected to begin the challenging descent back to Camp 4.
Before heading to Everest, the plan was for Allin to return to AEW in time for Double or Nothing on May 25 in Glendale, Arizona. With the climb taking longer than expected, AEW fans are left wondering if Allin will make it back in time for the pay-per-view or if his comeback will be further delayed.
