John Cena made it clear during the Philadelphia Fan Expo that he has no interest in revisiting his Chain Gang era, despite fans still holding onto memories from that time. When a fan brought up Cenas only platinum album and asked why he hasnt brought back that version of himself, Cena didnt hesitate to shut down the idea.
Im so grateful for that CD you hold in your hand and Im so grateful for people that repped like the Chain Gang. I think thats dope. Ive just moved forward in my life and I look back on that fondly. I dont regret it. But Im just in a different place, Cena said.
The former WWE Champion emphasized that hes not the same person he was back then and that hes embraced his personal growth. The 48-year-old me would have got my ass kicked by the 26-year-old me. I promised myself I would never wear a suit. All I do nowadays is wear suits. I didnt know what love was. Now I have love and joy and peace in my life, Cena added.
Cena brought up the impact of the Chain Gang era but said that hes moved on for good. You should always be curious and always seek growth. I believe we should never be the person you were yesterday, he concluded.
John Cenas response makes it clear that the Chain Gang era is firmly in the past, with no intention of ever bringing it back.
