Saraya is finally opening up about why Alberto Del Rio isnt mentioned in her new book, Hell In Boots.
During an AMA episode of her Rulebreakers podcast, the former WWE and AEW Womens Champion explained her decision to leave out the controversial chapter of her life involving Del Rio.
A relationship didnt make the book, just because I feel like people would focus more on that relationship than the entirety of my book, Saraya said. So I opted out of talking about it for now.
Despite alluding to living in Texas a few times in the book, Saraya never mentioned Del Rio by name, nor did she address the 2017 domestic battery incident at Orlando International Airport. Back in 2020, she described Del Rio as being like Voldemort and vowed to never say his name again.
Sarayas relationship with Del Rio was anything but smooth. The two were engaged in 2016, but the relationship quickly became marred by allegations of domestic violence, drug use, and explosive public disputes.
In 2017, things took a dark turn when Del Rio was arrested at Orlando International Airport after an alleged domestic battery incident involving Saraya. Witnesses reported hearing the couple arguing, with some claiming Del Rio was screaming at Saraya, who was then known as Paige in WWE.
Del Rio was initially charged with domestic battery but was later cleared after Saraya chose not to press charges. Despite the incident being widely reported, Saraya has since distanced herself from Del Rio.
Saraya also acknowledged that writing the book brought back a lot of forgotten memories. Writing a book is really fin hard, dude. You forget a lot of s that happened in your life, and then you speak to someone and youre like, Holy s***, yeah, I remember that, she said. So yeah, theres a lot of things that I wish I put in there, but second book, lets go, brother!
Saraya is keeping the focus on her own story, leaving out the chapters that once dominated headlines. With a second book possibly in the works, its clear shes not done sharing her truth but for now, shes moving forward on her own terms.
