Mariah May just dropped a cryptic Instagram message that has fans speculating about her future in AEW.
The former Womens World Champion posted, Finally someone let me out of my cage, sending the internet into a frenzy as rumors of her potential WWE move continue to swirl.
May, whose AEW contract is rumored to expire in November, hasnt been seen on AEW programming since losing a Hollywood Ending match to Toni Storm at AEW Revolution in March. According to earlier reports, AEW is still trying to retain May, but her absence from TV has only fueled more speculation about where she might end up next.
Back in March, Wrestling Observers Dave Meltzer reported that May informed AEW she wasnt planning to re-sign, leading to her blow-off match with Storm. I noted many times that I was surprised at doing that match at that time because it was such a hot feud and didnt need a final blow-off after just three matches, Meltzer wrote. Apparently May made it clear at that time that she was not signing a new deal.
With her latest cryptic post, fans are left wondering if May is preparing to walk away from AEW and potentially head to WWE or if shes just playing into the speculation to keep everyone guessing.
