Will Ospreay may be one of the biggest stars in AEW, but dont expect him to relocate to the United States anytime soon. Despite AEW being primarily a US-based company, Ospreay says hes perfectly content staying in the UK, where hes built a life for himself and his family.
During his recent interview with Josh Martinez on Z100s Superstar Crossover, Ospreay explained why hes sticking to the UK, even though the constant travel is exhausting. Martinez noted the time difference between them during the interview, saying, Yeah, mate. Im here now. So, okay. So, well time stamp this real quick. It is currently 4:33 in New York City where I am. And you are what time?
Ospreay then broke down his typical travel routine, highlighting the toll it takes. Ill go to bed after this. Ill wake up at about 5:30 in the morning. Ill get me an hour and 20 Uber over to Heathrow. Ill sit on a plane for about 7 to 8 hours. Ill land. Ill clear customs. Ill have to get me bag. Ill go over. Ill get picked up. Go straight to the arena. Uh Ill shower in one of the locker rooms. Make myself smell pretty and then get on with the show, he said.
Despite the grueling travel schedule, Ospreay says the decision to stay in the UK is all about family. Family like staying here. And Ive made up such a little life. Like my kids doing well at school. Like Im just Im happy. I dont really have any aspiration of moving over, he added.
When asked if there was any US city hed consider moving to, Ospreay made it clear that hes not interested. I dont know. Like I mean, its all circumstance because I do I want to go somewhere thats hot, less Orlando, but I just dont want to be in here any of the other people that live in Orlando. I just I quite enjoy that type of space between us. I like seeing you every now and again. Like if Im over at a Disney park and you come over and say hello. All right, I say hello, but I want to get back to Disney, he said.
Ospreays stance on staying in the UK comes after he recently took aim at WWE, claiming that AEW smokes WWE in every field of wrestling. With AEWs upcoming All In: Texas going head-to-head with WWE Saturday Nights Main Event, Ospreays words are only adding more fuel to the fire.
