Jeff Cobbs debut at WWE Backlash has fans speculating about what the powerhouse will be called moving forward. Despite making a major impact during the United States Championship match, its still unclear whether Cobb will keep his name or adopt a new moniker under the WWE banner.

Cobbs arrival came during the chaotic four-way bout for the U.S. Title featuring Jacob Fatu, LA Knight, Drew McIntyre, and Damian Priest. Cobb leaped the barricade and blindsided LA Knight, allowing Fatu to capitalize with a moonsault and retain his title. However, Jacob Fatu seemed confused by Cobbs presence and walked up the ramp alone, passing between Cobb and Solo Sikoa.

After the match, Big E addressed the uncertainty around Cobbs WWE name, saying, We saw the debut of a man once referred to as Jeff Cobb, not entirely sure what hell be referred to now. This statement added fuel to the speculation that WWE might rebrand Cobb, a common move for the company with incoming talent.

Despite Big Es comments, WWE.coms official Backlash photo gallery still labeled the star as Jeff Cobb in a collection titled Photos: Jeff Cobb attacks LA Knight in shocking debut. Additionally, WWEs official recap of the match included the following notes:

Jeff Cobb suddenly hit the scene and ruthlessly dismantled Knight with a ringside assault in his first WWE appearance. Fatu, seemingly confused with the arrival of Cobb, took advantage by hitting a huge moonsault on The Megastar to win the match and retain his title. Upon making his way back up the ramp, Fatu walked between Sikoa and Cobb and exited by himself.

As noted earlier, Cobbs debut was kept under wraps with extreme measures. He reportedly took somewhere in the area of 4-5 flights starting in Japan over the last day and a half and finally ending up in St. Louis this AM, with WWE officials going to great lengths to prevent leaks.

For now, WWE has yet to officially confirm Cobbs name moving forward, leaving the door open for a potential rebranding as his alliance with Solo Sikoa develops.

Should WWE keep Jeff Cobbs name, or is it time for a fresh identity under the WWE banner? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
