Vince McMahon may have stepped down from WWE in January 2024, but hes not walking away from his controversies or his allies. While McMahon is facing serious legal trouble over allegations of misconduct involving Janel Grant and others, longtime associate Teddy Long is standing by his side.
On a recent episode of the Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Long made it clear that his loyalty to McMahon hasnt wavered despite the mounting allegations. Im gonna stand by him, Long said. If it hadnt been for Vince McMahon, I wouldnt be where I am today.
McMahon officially exited WWE after the Grant lawsuit was filed, accusing him of sex trafficking. That case is still being litigated in Connecticut, but McMahon isnt sitting still. According to sources, hes already plotting his next move launching a film and television production company once the ongoing legal battles are resolved.
Meanwhile, McMahons other legal troubles are heating up. WWE shareholders are demanding that he turn over documents related to the 2023 merger with UFCs parent company, Endeavor. The shareholders allege that McMahon forced his way back onto WWEs board to secure the merger, choosing Endeavor over higher bidders to maintain control despite facing misconduct allegations.
With McMahon planning a potential foray into Hollywood, the question remains: Is he trying to rebuild his empire outside of wrestling, or is he simply trying to keep control amid mounting pressure?
What do you think of Teddy Longs unwavering support for Vince McMahon? Is McMahons next move a smart business play, or is he trying to distract from his legal issues? Sound off in the comments below!
