John Cena is currently in the middle of his retirement tour as he will finally hang up his pro wrestling boots in December this year. While theres still a lot of time until then, it appears WWE is already filming a documentary based on Cena.
While speaking on the post-Backlash show, Sean Ross Sapp was asked if there was any word on a John Cena documentary this year. He revealed that they are filming content throughout the year. While hes not sure if it will be released this year, he confirmed that filming is ongoing, saying, They are filming stuff throughout the year. I dont know if itll release this year, but it is being filmed throughout this year.
This comes after John Cena defeated Randy Orton to successfully retain his Undisputed WWE Championship at the Backlash Premium Live Event, which received lots of praise from fans.
As reported earlier, John Cenas last WWE match will take place at the TD Garden in Boston this December, but the exact date has not been revealed yet. That said, fans can obviously expect the documentary to include footage from his final match as well.
John Cenas wrestling career is coming to an end this year, and his farewell is expected to be both happy and emotional for fans and WWE. A new documentary will likely show his last matches, messages from other wrestlers, and memories from his 20+ years of changing WWE, so well have to see how the documentary will turn out.
