Jakara Jackson is opening up about how she learned she was being let go by WWE and it wasnt the call she expected.
In a new YouTube video posted on May 10, 2025, the former NXT star detailed the moment she received the shocking news that her WWE run was over.
I was actually getting ready for my nieces birthday dinner, and I got a phone call, Jackson said. The person on the other end sounded sad. Already on the reel. I feel like everybody thinks about it, because its not a matter of if. Its when.
Jackson said she immediately knew something was wrong based on the tone of the call. I was shook, she admitted. I definitely missed my nieces birthday dinner because I had to regroup. Its shocking news, you know what Im saying? I did end up going roller skating with her, so dont worry. I didnt skip out on her.
Despite the sudden nature of the call, Jackson kept a positive outlook. It is what it is and it aint what it isnt, she said. A wise man once told me that.
Jackson, who now plans to go by her real name Jamara, expressed gratitude for the support shes received from fans and friends in WWE. I cant say that my girl Nikita [Lyons] and Tatum [Paxley] are two people who helped me stay sane in this place, she said, noting how they kept her grounded throughout her NXT run.
Now, with her WWE days behind her, Jackson is ready to move forward and keep her name in the conversation. Life isnt what happens to you, its how you move on from it, she added.
