Randy Orton is gearing up for a major showdown against John Cena at WWE Backlash on May 10th, but theres a big twist this time Orton is the babyface, and Cena is the heel. And for Orton, thats a completely new experience.
Its different, because Im the good guy, and thats never been the case before so I dont know what to expect, Orton told Billboard ahead of the big event.
They might love John. They might st on me and be booing me. I know its my hometown and Im from St. Louis and I grew up here but as far as being the hometown guy, Im not at all the Cardinals games, or wearing the Blues jersey, and doing all that st.
Despite being a St. Louis native, Orton isnt counting on the typical hometown hero reaction. I have my kids and wife, and we stay to ourselves when Im in town. Its not that I dont rep the city, but Im not out there repping the city, Orton said. So its not like everyone is going to love me necessarily. Im very curious to see how Saturday goes.
With Cena playing the villain and Orton stepping into the unfamiliar role of fan favorite, the crowd reaction could go in any direction. Will Orton finally get the heros welcome, or will Cenas new bad-guy persona steal the spotlight?
