AEW is packing its bags and setting up shop in the former stomping grounds of ECW. The company has confirmed a full-blown residency at Philadelphias iconic 2300 Arena, with seven shows scheduled between August 27 and September 11.
This marks AEWs first-ever run at the historic venue, and theyre not holding back. The residency kicks off Wednesday, August 27 with an episode of AEW Dynamite, followed by Collision on Saturday, August 30. Fans can expect back-to-back programming through early September, including another Dynamite on September 3, ROH Death Before Dishonor on September 5, Collision on September 6, another Dynamite on September 10, and a special Collision taping on Thursday, September 11.
In addition, theres chatter that AEW will also co-promote the third tribute show for the late Dean Rasmussen at the venue during the same period, although that has not yet been officially confirmed.
This is a full-circle moment for the 2300 Arenaformerly known as the ECW Arenawhich rose to legendary status in the 1990s thanks to hardcore wrestling and unforgettable underground energy. AEW now brings its own flavor to the building that shaped a generation of wrestling fans.
