WWE veteran Natalya isnt sitting around waiting for the creative team to write her next chaptershes making it happen herself.
In a new interview with The Toronto Sun, the longtime WWE star opened up about being allowed to take on outside wrestling projects with full support from the company, and she made it clear shes not here to just coast.
Its so cool that Im being allowed to do these outside projects with WWEs full blessing, Natalya said. As Ive mentioned before and Ive said this to a lot of other people, I am not comfortable just taking a paycheck and just coasting and just hoping that the writers at WWE think of something for me to do.
Now in her 18th straight year with the company, Natalya stressed that her longevity is no accident. I would have never survived in WWE 18 plus years, which is unprecedented for a female in WWEno other woman in the industry, no one has ever done this at the level that Ive done it for 18 uninterrupted years.
She credited her drive and creativity for keeping her active, especially in a time when the womens division is as stacked as its ever been. I would never have survived what I survived in WWE had I not been creative and persistent and constantly trying to think of new ideas and ways to be involved and ways to be included. The division is more competitive than its ever been.
And when it comes to expectations from the top of the company, Natalya pulled no punches. To be honest, Triple H doesnt owe me anything. Triple H doesnt owe me a storyline, he doesnt owe me a phone call, he doesnt owe me a text, he doesnt owe me an email, he doesnt owe me a single thing.
Natalya continues to be a steady force in WWE, both in the ring and as a respected locker room veteran. With her willingness to push forward and create her own path, its clear shes not going anywhere unless she decides to.
