Before WWE NXT went live on April 29, the company taped several matches and segments with some notable surprises in the building. Commentary for the tapings was handled by Jeremy Borash and Vic Joseph.
The Undertaker and Bubba Ray Dudley were both in attendance and watched from the crows nest area during the opening matches.
Match Results & Highlights:
Shiloh Hill defeated Elijah Holyfield
Hill scored the win while Taker and Bubba looked on from above, keeping close eyes on the action.
Dark Match:
Harlem Lewis defeated Keanu Carver
This untelevised match also kept Undertaker and Bubba Ray in the crows nest, signaling continued backstage interest in Lewis and Carvers development.
In-Ring Segment:
Chris Island came out for a promo but was quickly interrupted by Tyson DuPont and Tyriek Igwe. The two launched a surprise attack on Island before JeVon Evans music hit to a massive pop. Evans ran down and cleared house, saving Island from the beatdown.
The crowd then broke into a Happy Birthday chant for JeVon Evans, who turned 21 that day. Evans thanked the fans and hyped the crowd to wrap the segment, creating a feel-good moment before the live show officially kicked off.
Plenty of developmental eyes were on the ring tonightand with Undertaker and Bubba Ray watching from above, everyone knew they had to deliver.
