Since he began his pro wrestling career, WWE Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable has frequently been compared to WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, both for their amateur wrestling backgrounds and their similar wrestling styles. And while their careers only overlapped for a brief period of time before Angle retired in 2019, it allowed the two to have one singles match with each other on the March 18, 2019 episode of "WWE Raw" in Chicago, Illinois. Appearing on "Insight with Chris Van Vliet," Gable called the match a full circle moment, both because of the comparisons between him and Angle, but also because he had met Angle years ago at an autograph signing and declared the two would wrestle one day in WWE.Beyond the match being a dream come true for Gable, he revealed that he and Angle benefited from a rarity not often seen during the days of Vince McMahon running "Raw." That, coupled with the match being a dream come true and it taking place in the Midwest near Gable's home state of Minnesota, resulted in it being a wonderful night for Gable. Alas, there was one thing that occurred afterward that only slightly marred it."The cool thing I do remember about that is, in a very rare occurrence on a 'Monday Night Raw' live, we actually ended up getting more time than we were supposed to, in the moment. So we just got to wrestle. And to be able to just go in there and just be wrestling on the fly, winging it with Kurt Angle of all people, it's like 'This is happening?' And this is in Chicago, which is great, the crowd is always great. It was a great night man, except I got a speeding ticket on the way home."If you use any of the quotes in this article, please credit "Insight with Chris Van Vliet" and provide an h/t to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription
