Now they need to show they can do it in the Premier League. Andoni Iraolas side head to the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday to face a Brentford team who are still unbeaten, and who have already beaten Tottenham and Chelsea on home soil this season. The win in Linz was exactly what Liverpool needed after Sundays 3-0 defeat to Manchester City. They were 4-0 up after 51 minutes, with Ronald Arajo and Jeremie Frimpong both heading in and Bradley Barcola scoring twice. Barcola then completed his first professional hat-trick, and Lewis Koumas got his first Champions League goal on his first start in the competition, before LASK pulled three late goals back. The young players caught the eye, too. Rio Ngumoha set up Barcolas opener with a brilliant slaloming run, and Trey Nyoni was composed at the base of midfield. The Premier League has been much tougher. Liverpool have won just two of their opening six games, theyre already nine points behind leaders Manchester City, and they have scored only once in their last three league matches. Defeat on Saturday could see them slip into the bottom half.Brentford are strong at home. The Bees are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions, and while they have drawn four of their last five league matches, Kristoffer Ajers late equaliser at Aston Villa last weekend showed their resilience once again. Theyve also been more prolific than Liverpool, scoring 12 league goals to Liverpools seven.Theres a familiar face waiting for Liverpool, too. Caoimhn Kelleher spent years as Alissons understudy at Anfield before joining Brentford in 2025, and hell be keen to show his old club what theyre missing. The Premier League Table Premier League 2026 England #TeamPlayedWonDrawnLostGFGAGDPtsLast 5 1 Manchester City66001651118 W W W W W 2 Arsenal6501105515 W L W W W 3 Brighton64111851313 W W W D L 4 Brentford6240126610 D W D D D 5 Everton624085310 D W D D D 6 Chelsea63121513210 W L D L W 7 Leeds62318539 L D W D D 8 Hull City62318629 D L D D W 9 Liverpool62317709 L W D W D 10 Ipswich6303912-39 W L W L L 11 Newcastle62221013-38 L W L D W 12 Crystal Palace6213912-37 W D L W L 13 Manchester United61329906 D D L D W 14 Coventry6204511-66 W W L L L 15 Nottingham Forest612358-35 L L W D D 16 Aston Villa6123611-55 D W L D L 17 Sunderland6114612-64 L L L D W 18 Bournemouth6033713-63 L L D D D 19 Tottenham603339-63 D L D D L 20 Fulham6024610-42 L D D L L Position 1, 2, 3, 4 : Promotion Champions League (League phase) Position 5 : Promotion Europa League (League phase) Position 18, 19, 20 : Relegation Championship Team News for Brentford v LiverpoolRyan Gravenberch is suspended after his red card against City, so Liverpool need to find another midfield partner for Alexis Mac Allister.Iraola said on Thursday that it was too early to say whether Dominik Szoboszlai (hamstring), Cody Gakpo (ankle) and Alexander Isak (thigh) would be ready, after all three missed the LASK game. Well need to change again at the weekend, he said. We need everyone. We need everyone in one moment or the other. Everyone has to be ready because we will probably need him.Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley remain out.For Brentford, Kevin Schade is a doubt after suffering a shoulder injury at Villa Park.
