Jeff Jarrett has had the privilege of wrestling at some of the most famous venues in the entire world, but it wasn't until this year where he finally got to step foot inside the iconic Arena Mexico. After working a dark match before AEW Grand Slam Mexico in August, Jarrett got the chance to mix it up with a true icon of Lucha Libre, Blue Panther, at CMLL's 93. Aniversario event on September 18, which just so happened to be Blue Panther's 66th birthday.Jarrett was asked about the match on his "My World" podcast, where he admitted that never in his wildest dreams would he have expected to be on such a major show in such a special venue against such a beloved name in Mexico. "I don't even know how to really put it into words how special [it was] because I just thought, and I respected it completely, that there will never really be a true opportunity for me to perform in the cathedral of professional wrestling, Arena Mexico..." Jarrett said. "For me to perform, this is their version of All In, of WrestleMania, of Bound For Glory, of Halloween Havoc, Starrcade, Great American Bash, all the big shows...this is that show, it's the biggest show of the year."Jarrett admitted that he came to terms with the idea that he would never work in Arena Mexico, so to get the chance in his 40th year as a wrestler is something that he will forever be grateful for. "It was, to me, magical. No other words can really put it. It was, for me, it was a bucket list, magical night. I am grateful for the opportunity."Please credit "My World"when using quotes from this article, and give a H/T to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.
