AEW's Mick Foley has named the primary reason he left WWE and explained why he has no second thoughts about the decision.Foley decided to end his WWE Legends deal earlier this year and eventually joined their rival, AEW. The WWE Hall of Famer, during a recent edition of "The Mick And Kenny Show" alongside fan Kenny Jordan, said that WWE's close relationship with President Donald Trump was the primary reason he left the promotion."I hadn't actually worked for them in nine years, right? I had a Legends deal, you know, and I signed at conventions and occasionally did an appearance. They were just going in a direction, and I mean, people know I wasn't comfortable with their this isn't a politically motivated show at all but I just thought they were a little too cozy with our current president. And he was saying some things that I could not abide by and so I just told WWE I would be parting ways with them," he said.Foley has no regrets with his spell in WWE and enjoyed working with the TKO-owned promotion. But he felt that it was time to leave, even though the money WWE offered was great."But I loved my time. I really enjoyed my time with them," he said. "I've never regretted it, Kenny. I realized when I was at WrestleCon in Las Vegas that I had to work about 20 hours to make what I would have made in four hours with WWE and I'm okay with that," added the legend.Since his AEW debut in May, Foley has appeared sporadically in Tony Khan's promotion.The Hardcore Legend has featured on AEW's pay-per-view pre-show panel and in backstage and in-ring segments, including one at AEW Dynamite Beach Break, where he had a segment with Kyle Fletcher and the Don Callis Family.
