This year marked the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center in NewYork City.In 2001, New York native D-Von Dudley was signed to WWE, and in a recent video on his YouTube channel, he reflected on the day of 9/11.For years, Madison Square Garden in Manhattan was seen as the the historic home turf and spiritual headquarters of WWE, but the day of the attacks, WWE were taping shows in Houston, Texas.Dudley admitted that every time he thinks back to the tragedy, it doesn't get any easier for him. Despite not being in NYC that day, he and countless others around the world felt the emotional turmoil.D-Von recalled that he found out about the news through his tag partner Bubba Ray Dudley, who called him to break the news. "He goes, 'Turn the news on D-Von,' and I thought I was watching a movie. I thought maybe I was onHBO or something, because to me, I could not fathom that two planes would have hit the World Trade Center, and whenI realized that it was real, my heart just dropped," he said.With footage of the attacks being played repeatedly on the news, D-Von was left wondering if he was witnessing the end of the world. Eventually D-Von met up withBubba and Dwayne "The Rock"Johnson, since they all travelled together. "We got in the car, we drove to whatever restaurant that was open," he recalled. "I remember driving, and the street was empty,it was desolate, it was like everybody had left the world and we were the only ones there.
