"WWE NXT" star Mason Rook, the former Will Kroos on the UK independent scene, made a big impact when he debuted in WWE, immediately going after then-NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo. Since then, he's won a number one contender's match to challenge Grayson Waller for the gold. One of Rook's most vocal fans is WWE legend John Cena.Cena has recalled first being exposed to Rook, and instantly becoming a fan, when he watched Rook's work while filming a movie in Budapest. Rook spoke on "Busted Open Radio" about what Cena's support means to him. He said it's "very surreal" and explained he first met Cena while doing extra work for WWE in Glasgow."We were all walking into the extra room and he was in there signing some 8x10s in one of the production rooms," he said. "Obviously, of course I saw him, and we were walking in, and I thought at the time he was getting up to leave... I just thought to myself, 'This may be the only time I ever get to introduce myself and say 'hello' to him.'"Rook said he shook Cena's hand, and Cena told him the story of watching him on an independent wrestling channel in Budapest. The "NXT" star said at first, he thought it was a rib, since he didn't know Cena's personality. Rook said Cena's quick support is a credit to his work, but it has still been incredible for him."For John not only give his time to me then, but obviously since I've arrived in WWE, he's been quite vocal of myself, too," Rook said.
