Gable Steveson has made the transition from amateur wrestling to WWE, then to football and now to mixed martial arts having signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC earlier this year. However, after winning his debut earlier this year, his second fight has ended with the former WWE star being knocked out in 12 seconds.At UFC 331, which took place in Los Angeles, California on September 19, Steveson faced off with Sean Sharaf, a man who had lost his previous two fights. Steveson rushed in to try and take control of the cage, but he was met with a left hook from Sharaf which knocked Steveson out cold instantly to gain the victory. Sharaf walked into the fight as the heavy betting underdog, making his win one of the biggest upset wins in UFC history. He was given a special "Proper Chaos"bonus of $100,000 after the event was over, a bonus handed out by UFC President Dana White who handpicked Sharaf's win as the most shocking moment of the night.Steveson's fight with Sharaf gained a lot of media coverage following the UFC 331 pre-fight press conference earlier this week due to comments made by Sharaf. He was the first fighter within the UFC to bring up Steveson's previous legal troubles where he was accused of sexual assault in the state of Minnesota in 2019, but didn't face any criminal charges due to the state of Minnesota having a lack of laws surrounding sexual assaults on intoxicated victims, something that has since been rectified due to the public nature of Steveson's case.With all that said, Steveson's legal past wasn't the reason why he was eventually let go by WWE back in 2024. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Steveson was cut due to not connecting with the fans, not improving in the ring, and being on a contract that was simply too expensive for WWE to justify given Steveson's progress.
