Kevin Durant believes the Philadelphia 76ers have assembled a roster capable of challenging for the 2027 NBA championship following the arrival of LeBron James. The Houston Rockets forward compared Philadelphias new-look squad to the Golden State Warriors teams he helped lead to two NBA titles, highlighting the scoring talent now available to the 76ers.The last time they put three 20-point scorers on a team, they said it was unfair, which was the [Warriors] team I was on, Durant said at a USA Basketball event.The 76ers have got four 25-point scorers on this team. So, hell yeah, I think theyre going to be a contender. Theyre going to be a fun team to watch. Its going to be League Pass-worthy.James joins a star-studded roster featuring Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, all of whom averaged at least 25 points per game last season.The 41-year-old announced earlier this month that he would sign a two-year, $8 million contract with Philadelphia after considering offers from several teams, including the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat.Durant surprised by James decisionDurant admitted he was surprised by James decision but believes the move is good for both the player and the league.I didnt know at all, Durant said.LeBron is stealth like that. I know theres a lot of noise around him, but you never know whats on his mind.Im happy for him. Its a great decision for him to go to a team that has a good chance to win. Philly is a great fanbase, a great market, and its great for the league.
