The Philadelphia 76ers have continued their aggressive offseason, with veteran guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope set to join the franchise after reaching a buyout agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies.Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a buyout with Memphis and plans to sign a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the 76ers once he clears waivers, according to ESPNs Shams Charania.The move comes less than 24 hours after Philadelphia landed LeBron James, adding another experienced piece to a roster that already features Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe.Caldwell-Pope is no stranger to playing alongside James. The veteran wing was a key member of the Los Angeles Lakers 2020 championship team before winning his second NBA title three years later with the Denver Nuggets.The 33-year-old arrives in Philadelphia looking to bounce back after an injury-shortened campaign in Memphis. Caldwell-Pope underwent surgery in February to correct a misalignment in his right pinkie finger, an injury that sidelined him for the Grizzlies final 31 games of the season.Before being shut down, he averaged 8.4 points, 2.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds across 21.3 minutes per game in 51 appearances. Those numbers marked his lowest scoring average and playing time since his rookie season.Despite the recent dip in production, Caldwell-Pope has built a reputation as one of the leagues premier three-and-D role players.
