
OLATHE, Kan. (BRAIN) Garmin acquired TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic platforms. Financial terms of the acquisition announced Wednesday will not be disclosed.According to Garmin, the acquisition strengthens the company's fitness segment, which includes cycling products and customized coaching experiences for endurance, strength and performance-focused users."TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic share Garmin's passion for empowering athletes and coaches around the world with world-class training tools, performance metrics and actionable insights," said Brad Trenkle, Garmin co-chief operating officer. "The addition of these highly successful platforms to the Garmin ecosystem will expand access to more authentic coaching experiences connecting athletes with professional coaches who guide, motivate and inspire them to reach their goals."Headquartered in Louisville, Colo., TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic have 120 combined employees who will join Garmin's global workforce. TrainingPeaks moving into virtual cycling with the acquisition of indieVelo in 2024. TrainingPeaks rebranded it TrainingPeaks Virtual.
